David Maguire

David Maguire is probably one of the newest and brightest singers on the Irish Country Scene. David hails from Ballinasloe County Galway. David took an interest in country music at a very early age listening to his parents records of Jim Reeves, Margo and Gene Stewart. At the age of 9 after hearing the Dire Straits hit Walk of Life he taught himself how to play the guitar. As time went on David listened to more country music and took great interest in Chet Atkins, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson to name a few. David chose “Close to My Heart” a self penned up beat song as his debut single. It was recorded at Spout Studios in Granard where he recorded his song under the guidance of the very talented Jonathan Owens. The Popularity of Close to My Heart encouraged David to record “Speed and Sound of Loneliness“ written by John Prine.

David is planning to record further tracks with the intention of releasing an album in the not too distant future. The album will be a mix of David’s favourite country classics and some self penned songs.
